Intent TagTerms & Conditions
Effective Date: 18th February 2026
Applicability: These Terms and Conditions (“Tag Terms”) apply to the use of Nano Interactive’s Intent Tags (the “Tags”), including JavaScript snippets and tracking pixels, provided to Advertisers and Publishers (each a “Customer”) for the purpose of measuring campaign performance and user intent.
Our Intent Tags prioritize user privacy by eliminating the need for persistent identifiers. By truncating IP addresses at the point of ingestion and processing only non-PII signals like User Agent and context, we ensure that campaign measurement never results in the profiling of an identifiable individual.
1. Description of Technology
The Tags are designed to collect “Intent Signals” in a privacy-centric manner. Our technology operates on an ID-free basis, meaning:
- No Cookie Injection: The Tags do not drop or read third-party cookies on the user’s browser.
- No PII: No Personally Identifiable Information (name, email, etc.) is collected or stored.
- IP Anonymization: Full IP addresses are processed in volatile memory only for the duration of the real-time request to determine geographic location (Country/City) and are immediately truncated (e.g., removing the last octet) before any storage occurs.
- Data Minimization: We collect User Agent (UA) strings and event data (impressions, clicks, conversions) solely for the purposes of attribution and optimization.
2. License and Implementation
2.1 Grant of License: Subject to compliance with these Tag Terms, Nano Interactive grants Customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to embed the Tags on authorized digital properties.
2.2 Usage Restrictions: Customer shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:
- Modify, decompile, or reverse-engineer the Tags.
- Use the Tags to collect any data that could be used to re-identify an individual.
- Deploy Tags on websites or apps directed at children under the age of 16 (or the applicable age of consent in the relevant jurisdiction).
3. Data Privacy and Compliance
3.1 Role of the Parties: Both parties shall comply with applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA. 3.2 Transparency: Customer (Publisher/Advertiser) must maintain a clear and accessible Privacy Policy on its digital properties that discloses the use of third-party tracking technologies for analytics and advertising purposes. 3.3 Consent Management: Although the Tags are ID-free and do not use cookies, Customer is responsible for ensuring that its use of the Tags complies with local regulations regarding the collection of “online identifiers” (such as truncated IPs or UA strings) and for obtaining any necessary user consent required by law or industry frameworks (e.g., IAB TCF). 3.4 No Sensitive Data: Customer agrees not to implement the Tags on pages that contain sensitive categories of data (e.g., precise health data, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation).
4. Ownership of Data
4.1 Aggregated Data: Nano Interactive owns the aggregated and anonymized data derived from the Tags. This data is used to improve our Intent Personas and optimization models. 4.2 Customer Data: Customer retains all rights to its specific campaign performance reports generated through the Tags.
5. Warranties and Disclaimers
5.1 “As Is” Basis: The Tags are provided “as is.” Nano Interactive does not warrant that the operation of the Tags will be uninterrupted or error-free. 5.2 Mutual Warranty: Each party warrants that it has the legal authority to enter into these Tag Terms and to handle the data as described herein.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nano Interactive shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the Tags. Total liability under these Tag Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by Customer for the specific service during the six (6) months preceding the claim.
7. Termination
Nano reserves the right to disable any Tags if Customer is found to be in breach of these terms or if the use of the Tags on Customer’s site creates a legal or security risk. Upon termination, Customer must remove all Tags from its digital properties.
